Staff Session Timeout
If nobody uses the staff app for 2 hours, ExpeDite signs you out automatically — so customer and payment data stay protected on a shared counter PC.
What happens after 2 hours idle
On the signed-in staff app, inactivity is tracked automatically. After 2 hours with no activity, the session fully signs out. You will need to log in again to continue.
This applies only to the staff app your team uses behind the counter. It does not apply to public customer pages.
The "Still there?" warning
About 1 minute before sign-out, a dialog appears titled Still there?. It explains that sessions end after 2 hours of inactivity, shows a countdown in seconds, and offers Stay signed in.
- Click Stay signed in if you are still working — your session continues.
- If you ignore it, the countdown finishes and you are signed out.
Why this exists
Many shops share a counter PC. If someone walks away and leaves ExpeDite open, the next person at the desk should not see customer records, jobsheets, or payment screens. Automatic sign-out after idle time is the safeguard.
Public customer links are not affected
Customers using public pages — track a repair, book a slot, or view an invoice — are not signed out by this idle timer. Only staff who are logged into the shop app are.
How activity is counted
- One tab keeps the others alive. Using ExpeDite in one browser tab updates a shared last-activity clock for other tabs on the same site.
- Reload does not start a fresh 2 hours. Refreshing the page does not reset the idle clock if it already started from earlier activity. The 2-hour window continues from the last real use.
